Create a game-ready model of the "Judge" in the style of Valorant, designed after the Agent KAY/O

execution

Instead of starting with the Judge model from the game files, I decided to model the Judge from scratch, to get some practice taking a model all the way from concept to final, game-ready model.

With a product that functions almost exclusively underwater, Seauto needed a way to showcase their product in action without dealing with the fickle nature of underwater videography.

I had a lot of fun working on this project, as it called for a unique split of motion graphic effects and 3D renders. The filtration animation I created (shown above) is a perfect example of this blend. Shots like this were interspersed with live action video and more realistic 3D renders. Another fun aspect of this project was re-working the treads on the provided model and rigging them so that they'd move automatically at the appropriate rate whenever the model itself was moved. Finally, I created procedural caustics with Blender's material nodes that animate naturally and appear only on the top of the object to which they're applied. These add extra realism to the underwater scenes without adding any additional heavy computation.
